There has been a war going on between electric and fuel driven vehicles for over a century. Few people know that before the gasoline engine, electric cars dominated the American landscape. There were over on hundred electric car manufacturers in 1908. Shortly after the gasoline carburetor was invented there was none. Gas cars cold go further and faster and didn’t require a long charge time.
Just imagine if humanity had poured its creative talent into electric vehicles for the past century, where would we be now? Probably not in Iraq, and we probably would not be the whore of Israel. Electric powered vehicles would have kept us out of oversea entanglements, petroleum has been a curse on America.
Some call oil black gold, I call it black ooze, because the National Security state has consolidated power around the geo-political control of oil – the entire Neoconservative strategy, outside of advancing Israeli hegemony, was around control of this energy resource.
Oil has been the black death for those in and around the Middle East oil corridor. The pursuit of this one commodity has been nothing but death, millions upon millions of people have been negatively affected as Amerika rained down bombs and missiles from ever kind of flying robots like appropriately named Predators with Hellfires.
No one needs oil. We never needed it, we have more scientists and engineers alive today then all of previous history. NO ONE EVER NEEDED OIL. No person ever needed to drive an oil powered car. The reason oil won over the early electric cars was simple thermodynamics – oil has high heat value and is cheap, so cheap it was like “free energy”.
After a century of price gouging and wars for oil, something had to give, demand for the Saudi black slime dropped off as consumers lost jobs and could no longer afford the crap coming off the vehicle assembly line. Once people switch to bicycles they may not go back, no insurance, no oil changes, no expensive shop time or court ticket fines.
THE BICYCLE IS THE KING OF EFFICIENCY
The bicycle is the most efficient transportation ever invented, I can attest that riding a bike to work makes you feel great and parking is never a problem – I actually carry mine right into my place of employment. Cops ignore me ’cause I ain’t in a car driving an infernal combustion death machine that is subjected to the contractual obligation of a Driver’s License.
Electric cars are making a comeback – especially after the Lehman default. Now it’s a race, GM Volt and the Nissan Leaf are going to get a run for their money as Telsa motors is starting to lower production costs and enter their market.
Building an electric car is theoretically far simpler than a gas powered one – electric cars are far simpler. The only problem with electric power is the batteries: energy density, range, weight. The only thing holding electric cars back is battery technology, and now with lithium ion, that threshold has been breached.
Soon the Lithium ion will be replaced by something else, like Aluminum air batteries.
Darpa can’t have Terminator robots weighed down by heavy batteries – how will can the T-1 stomp on your face if it is towing around a cart full of batteries? CAN’T HAVE THAT – MUST HAVE EFFICIENT KILLING ROBOTS. LOL
